I’m always skeptical when I’m directed to sites that offer deals that are seemingly too good to be true. So, when I finally decided to give Snagshout a try, I was prepared for the process to be tedious, and the advertised deals not realistic. But, that’s not the case at all.
Snagshout lets you grab both new and existing products at crazy discounts, in exchange for writing an honest review on Amazon. The site lists hundreds of products across many categories, including beauty, electronics, clothing and household items. Snagging a product is easy – you take a promotion code and apply it to your Amazon shopping cart.
How good are the deals? This all depends on the types of products you use, but here are some of my latest snags.
How it Really Works
After completing the signup process (Snagshout collects your name and email address, and asks you to verify via mobile phone), you’ll need to provide the public link to your Amazon profile. The site does not collect your Amazon login credentials. Once verified, you’re ready for your first snag.
You can browse for deals via categories or filters, or search for them. Honestly, Snagshouts search feature is not the best, so I typically rely on browsing more than search.
When you find something you like, click the item and you can view a description. On the item’s page, you can see if shipping is applied (if you don’t see a ship amount beneath the price, the item qualifies for Prime). You can also see a quick overview. If you want to see full details and existing reviews, you’ll need to click “View on Amazon” and the Amazon site or app will be launched.
When you want to take advantage of a deal, you click “Snag It.” After confirming, you’ll be provided with a promotional code. Just add the product to your Amazon cart and apply the code during checkout.
After you receive your snagged product and put it to use, it’s time to write a review. You’ll have to pull up your Snags list and click Shout About It. Snagshout is all about honest reviews, and they actually read them. You will need to include a disclaimer that conveys you received the product at a discount in exchange for an honest review.
That’s it. Once Snagshout has verified the completion of the review process you’ll be able to snag another product. By the way, after your first few snags, you’ll get another snag slot, which means you can snag two items at any time. I’m not certain how many snag slots one can really earn, but I’m currently able to snag up to three items at a time.
No Hidden Fees
I’ve yet to find any hidden fees or bait and switches with Snagshout. Many of the products are available via Amazon Prime (I haven’t paid for shipping on anything yet) and, other than starting the process at Snagshout.com, you’re actually placing the order directly with Amazon.
How They Make Money
You’re probably wondering how Snagshout makes its money. Merchants or distributors pay for you to snag their products. They also eat the costs on the discounts. That’s why you’ll find both new products and long-running items on Snagshout. Merchants selling on Amazon rely heavily on customer reviews. These reviews, actually, are proven to sell products better than product descriptions, images and video. A lack of Amazon product reviews results in much lower sales.
With tier pricing, merchants pay anywhere from $1 to $5 for each snag. This is why it’s important to fulfill your obligation in writing a detailed product review.

Yes, I get a small commission when you use the links posted here to use Snagshout. As always, any potential kickbacks do not sway my review process.
